How meetup buying works on Manga Pak (cash in person)

What meetup is

Meetup on Manga Pak means you and the other person agree to meet in person and complete the trade yourselves. You pick a public place, check the manga or merch, and settle in cash (or whatever you both agree).

The listing still lives on Manga Pak so you can discover each other and message about time and place. The money path does not.

Meetup is cash — not a refusal of escrow

Courier trades use escrow because the item travels through shipping and Manga Pak holds payment until the buyer Accepts delivery. Packing and unpacking videos are recommended protection — you upload them only if something goes wrong. Meetup is different: you are both present, you can inspect the item, and payment happens peer-to-peer.

A seller can offer both escrow and meetup on the same listing. Chips mean:

• Escrow or Meetup — buyer picks either path
• Escrow · Courier — escrow only
• Meetup · Cash — cash meetup only

So for meetup:

• Manga Pak never holds meetup funds
• There is no platform release step for cash
• That is intentional policy for the meetup path, not a seller saying “I won’t do escrow”

Safety tips for buyers and sellers

• Meet in a busy public place (mall atrium, café, transit hub) — not a private home on a first trade
• Bring the listing photos or open the listing on your phone so condition matches what was advertised
• Inspect spines, foxing, sealed packs, and any extras before you pay
• Agree on the exact amount before you arrive; keep change ready
• If something feels off, walk away — another listing will show up

When to prefer courier escrow instead

Choose courier + escrow when:

• You are far apart and cannot meet safely
• The item is high value and you want escrow hold until Accept delivery
• You prefer Manga Pak to hold funds until the buyer confirms receipt

Escrow is for distance and payment hold. Videos help only if you dispute. Meetup is for local, in-person trades.
